The Trust was established in 1954 by a testamentary deed and is managed by a Board of Trustees. The funds available for charitable use came from both investments and, more recently, the sale of property built by Mr Samuel Hunter, Miss Hunter\u2019s father.<\/p>\n
Following a policy review in 2023, the Trustees have decided to focus on one<\/strong> core area of funding:<\/p>\n Disabled people are those who have a physical or mental impairment that has a \u2018substantial\u2019 and \u2018long-term\u2019 negative effect on their ability to do normal daily activities (Equality Act 2010).<\/u><\/p>\n Service provision will focus on providing opportunities and enabling people to lead fulfilling lives. This may include activities that offer advice, information and support, or life-skills, volunteering and employability training.<\/p>\n Applicant charities may assist with a wide range or specific groups of people, for example those living with mental ill health, cancer, physical and sensory impairments and long-term health conditions, as well as people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and other neurodivergent people.<\/p>\n In the process of assessing and awarding grants the Trust may collect information about organisations and their key contacts. We are committed to being transparent in our handling of personal information and this policy describes the types of information we might collect, how we use it and retain it.<\/p>\n This policy governs our processing of your information in relation to the grant application process and assessment, as well as any forthcoming grant awards.<\/p>\n Consent of use of personal data (contact details) is stated clearly in relevant documents, namely the online grant application form.<\/p>\n When you visit the website you do not have to give us any personal information about yourself. If you choose to email us or complete an online grant application form, we will not disclose any of your personal data to third parties except when we have your permission or if we are legally required to do so.<\/p>\n Like many websites, in order to track traffic flows our site uses \u2018cookies\u2019. These are text files that identify users\u2019 computers to our server but do not identify individual users. When users enter our site their computers will automatically be issued with cookies. This helps us to develop and improve our site. This may also be applicable during the completion of Progress\/ End of Grant Reports online. Again, you must have the consent of these individuals beforehand.<\/p>\n We will only process your information where it is necessary for our own legitimate interests, in accordance with the Article 6 (1) (f) lawful basis for processing personal data (under the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR). Specifically, we may use your information to:<\/p>\n The Trust will not share or disclose any of your personal data to third parties except when we have your permission or if we are legally required to do so,\u00a0or where we appoint data processors to provide services to us.<\/p>\n Online grant application forms include an \u2018opt in\u2019 selection for those who are happy for their organisation name and grant awarded to be included on the Trust website, but this will never include personal data.<\/p>\n The Trust will store all personal data and information on secure IT systems and servers.<\/p>\n We will hold your personal data on our systems in accordance with our Data Retention Schedule, whereby contact details (name, title, email and telephone number) are retained up to three years post-grant\/ project end. For unsuccessful applicants, contact details will only be retained for one year post-application.<\/p>\n The Trust maintains appropriate levels of technological and organisational safeguards to help protect against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of the information we hold about you.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, no system can be guaranteed as completely secure and there is an inherent risk in transmitting information over the internet. It may be possible for an unrelated party to intercept or access such transmissions unlawfully.
